In preparation for a dynamic season of dance, actor and choreographer Benjamin Sterling Cannon will teach a Dance Master Class for dancers and actors who are planning to audition for the upcoming YPT seasons. The focus of this class will be fundamental musical theatre dance technique and choreography. Participants will learn and improve upon basic dance technique and learn choreography to prepare for the dance-heavy productions of "FOOTLOOSE" and "THE MUSIC MAN".
February 23, 2012 - 10am-1pm. Cost is $60 per child. Open to all YPT ages!

Benjamin Sterling Cannon is a former soloist of the North Carolina Dance Theatre, and has starred in international, national and regional productions of A Chorus Line, The Who's Tommy, Smokey Joe's Cafe, and Joseph...Dreamcoat to name a few. Mr. Cannon also starred on Broadway as "Banzai" in Disney's The Lion King. As Founding Producer of look(see , Benjamin creates and facilitates dynamic arts programming , theater, and music projects designed to challenge, uplift, and inspire. Mr. Cannon is the Artistic Director of The Haddonfield Theatre Caravan, The New Works Series (Delaware), and Resident Director / Choreographer for The Children's Theatre Company (NYC).
Theatre Classes
We are now registering for our winter-spring semester of musical theatre classes. Our classes are designed to help young performers build confidence in all disciplines of musical theatre: acting, singing and dance. Our instructors carefully create their curriculum around the skill level of the performers in the class. Performers will learn and most importantly have fun in a safe and comfortable environment. Each semester concludes with a class showcase when friends and family are invited to see what the performers have been working on all semester.
Classes will run from February 27 through May 14, 2012. A class showcase is planned for the end of the semester, on a date which is yet to be determined.
MONDAY 4-5:30 Grades K-3
MONDAY 5:30-7 Grades 4-6
MONDAY 7-8:30 Grades 7 & up
